Ban-Ki Moon: Messenger versus the Message Print E-mail
Written by Berhane Alazar
Thursday, 21 February 2008
ImageWe all have heard the argument that some people distinguish between the mission accomplisher and the mission instigator as it were. So, I guess we are always going to duel on the issue and probably waste some invaluable time in what appears to be some hopeless task of where to place the blame as long as we could not solve the famous adage “Which came first - the chicken or the egg?”

The Insecurity of the Security Council Print E-mail
Written by Berhane Alazar
Saturday, 09 February 2008
ImageFor all the lofty ideals under which the (UN) United Nations (former League of Nations) was founded, one wonders if its real mission may have been totally misunderstood or exaggerated by most of us. Certainly, one is at a loss (complete loss) trying to decipher the working mechanisms and indeed the intent of the United Nations Security Council, UNSC.

Weyane and Eritrean Independence Print E-mail
Written by Berhane Alazar
Friday, 18 January 2008
ImageIt has been said before and we all have heard it to a point of ad nauseam how the notorious Weyane hoodlums have fought for nothing less than Eritrean independence more so than the Eritrean independence organizations themselves. As bizarre and as something hard to believe as the claim might sound, it actually is a perfect fit to their crooked way of thinking.

Lost Souls, TSERE-HAGER/AWIAN Print E-mail
Written by Amanuel Biedemariam

ImageIt is interesting to see the reaction Sophie Tesfamariam is getting from the want to be opposition "groups" and individuals in reaction to the article she wrote about a criminal . What is funny but sad is the fact that these people never address issues.

ImageThe Eritrean struggle of EPLF is one that has amazed millions of people and no other movement or struggle has been like it. It was a struggle that was created from scratch and with cohesion and understanding of the vision for a free and strong Eritrea.

Written by Dengor Fayd
Tuesday, 15 January 2008
ImageVOA Tigrinya Service, or to be exact Tigray Zone Service, has lately been given directives to disseminate anti-Eritrea disinformation campaign more than ever before. Starting from the head of the Service who immensely suffers from identity crisis to other staff members of the VOA Tigrinya Service with deep enmity towards Eritrea, the directives come as a welcome opportunity.

The Incurable Malice of Some Ethiopian Intellectuals Print E-mail
Written by Berhane Alazar
Monday, 07 January 2008
ImageAlthough it is not new to any observer of various Ethiopian regimes’ voracious appetite to subjugate and dominate all the countries of the Horn in general and Eritrea in particular, Dr. Yacob Hailemariam’s latest drooling over Eritrean assets is comical.  Actually if it weren’t for its serious implications, it would be hilarious.  Setting aside his academic credentials, Dr. Yacob apparently never understood the common adage that states “You can’t have your cake and eat it too”.  It is simply impossible, mister.
