ImageEritrea might be tiny, but it is currently squaring up to much larger neighbour Ethiopia - and more or less everyone else. Little guys typically make up in aggressiveness what they lack in size - and tiny Eritrea, the Horn of Africa's plucky bantam, is no exception.

DEMAND FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF OUR TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY - PETITION Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Tuesday, 11 December 2007
ImageWhat should petition letters include?

I would like to share my thoughts on what I believe petition letters (to persons, organisations, communities and governments) must include. Whilst keeping brief the part that covers the historical issues intended to educate the recipient, please base the greater part of the letters on the following factual and legal principles:

Written by Administrator
Wednesday, 05 December 2007
ImageThe announcement of Condoleeza Rice, the Secretary of State’s visit to the Horn region comes at a critical juncture and the people of the region see her belated interest in what is happening in the region with great skepticism and distrust.

Rice in Ethiopia - All in a day's work Print E-mail
Written by Simon Tisdall
Monday, 03 December 2007
ImagePutting Africa to rights in 24 hours: that is Condoleezza Rice's optimistic assignment this week. If last week's Middle East talks in Annapolis proved anything, it was that complicated, age-old conflicts cannot be solved, or even credibly set on the road to solution, in a single day.

The Spirit of Determination Print E-mail
Written by Gelila Yoftahe

ImageLies must be refuted at every turn, because if a lie is repeated enough, it does not matter who is telling it, or that there is nothing to substantiate its' claims… going unchallenged, it becomes the truth – embedding itself in public consciousness.

With truth as her only weapon, Eritrea will always prevail! Print E-mail
Written by Abeba Isahac

ImageI always give a sigh of relief when I read a nasty e-mail directed at me personally, instead of at the substance of what I write. Firstly, I become assured that my message is reaching the right people, and secondly,

Thanksgiving Holiday Message Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Tuesday, 20 November 2007
ImageWhen we observe this Thanksgiving Day, I want us to remember the many Eritreans who may not have the opportunity of abundance that we take it for granted.  Of course we don’t have to be “Rich” to fit in that category of “Abundance”.  Just the simple routine that when we go home we eat our dinners and break or breakfasts and when we are at work or school we enjoy our lunches, no matter what it may be.  Yes, my dear Eritreans, we take that for granted because we are able to do it.

Response to the New York Times Op-Ed “Don’t Turn on Ethiopia” Print E-mail
Written by Sophia Tesfamariam
Saturday, 17 November 2007
ImageWhen I read the 15 November 2007 New Times Op-Ed “Don't Turn on Ethiopia” penned by Vicki Huddleston, the former US Charge D'Affaires in Ethiopia and Tibor Nagy, former US Ambassador to Ethiopia (1999-2002), I was ashamed at the level of erosion in American diplomacy and the low calibre of the people on whom our government has had to depend on to discharge US diplomatic and political functions overseas.
