ImageIs it a coincidence, or is it premeditated, that, wherever there are Americans, there is always a declaration of  war, against any minor, if any at all, incident taking place between Eritrea and its neighboring countries, in the horn of Africa.

Does the USA being nearby give the leaders the courage to shout: war! war! Or is it just to please the Americans, and maybe perhaps of course also enjoy the little alms that comes with it.

How any one, let alone a leader, except for self defence, can sacrifice the youth of its people by waging a preemptive war, just to please another nation, or for a pittance of alms, is unimaginable and unacceptable.

Let us say for example, giving the benefit of doubt, that the woyane leader, in 1997, had honestly believed the tiny debilitated Badme to be within the Ethiopian boundary, and even go further, let us say, for the sake of argument, putting aside for a while the fact that seven Eritrean soldiers were killed for no apparent reason at that time, nevertheless, let us decide to accept the cockamamie claim, that it was attacked by Eritrea. Even if all this were true, is it enough reason to start a war over, in which hundreds of young youths gave their lives, their limbs, and many times their minds in post traumatic stress syndrome, not to mention where the economy of both countries deteriorate, while monies needed for a poor country goes to waste to buy ammunition, in order to enrich other countries? Was the war worth all this, from which in the end nothing came about, except the enmity of both countries. Was it worth the compensation gotten off of the those behind the scene making all this possible.

Although, after all this had taken place, 20,000 on the Eritrean side and several hundreds of thousands from the Ethiopian side, of lives sacrificed, and although Badme turned out, after all, through arbitration, to be found in the Eritrean territory, and although, as a result of the war more lands remain in the hands of the woyane, including Badme, despite all this, Eritrea has vowed to its people that, unless it is for self defence, we will not see anymore wars. And so, although we have every reason to reclaim our land, we are not going to war for that, but keep reminding and pestering the United Nations in particular and the world community as a whole to do the right thing. And this is the way to deal with wars, not in a hurry but with a great deal of restraint.

And now we have Djibouti crying for war backed up by France and again the US of America. And the United Nations, taking it upon themselves to threaten to castigate and blame Eritrea, while it is incumbent upon them to stop all wars and first look into the matter with more scrutiny instead of listening to France and the US of America who are there for their own agenda and interest.

The United Nations should not have been too quick in blaming Eritrea, even before they sent out their fact finding mission. Is it perhaps then a coincidence that, the date in which it was announced, was the last day of the American envoy who was chairing the Security Council seat that month. Whatever it was, the security council made their judgment, before even a fact finding mission having been sent to that area. And now, like putting the cart before the horse, after blemishing Eritrea's reputation, they want to send a fact finding mission, to which of course, Eritrea refused. But now, all we hear about is that Eritrea refused the fact finding mission, making it look as though Eritrea has something to hide.

War is not a joking matter, and it should come, if at all necessary, after all means of its avoidance have been exhausted. But even then, all the means by which a country wants to start a war, for trivial matters, should be banned from going to that country, until further solutions have been made to solve the problem. Nothing could be that urgent, and least of all "a war". This should have been the job of the United Nations, not pitting one country after another, saying who is at fault without checking, and putting petrol into the fire.

ImageInstead, what we have here now is, countries like the USA and their allies, queued up, ready to give money, ammunition and satellites, to see one country, especially in Africa, slaughter one another, especially if they are not too happy with one country or the other. War should not be used to retaliate a grudge, or show force toward another country, especially using a third party, in this case Africans, to do the dirty job for you.

This happened, as we found out later, in the case of the woyane invading Eritrea, and then, with the help of their western media, turned around to blame Eritrea. Now the same thing is happening with Djibouti. Because, no matter how much they tried to intimidate and tempt the Eritrean leadership, war does not seen to initiate from Asmara, but instead the Eritrean leadership has exhausted the allies hopes, by remaining calm, collected and most of all with full restraint, but always ready.

ImageAnd now, just because they are a bit confused and don't know which way to come from, they the have fully equipped the woyane in order to attack from the Djibouti side, and at the same time encouraging the Djibouti leader, as though in a hurry to attack, so that it might look as though Djibouti was attaching, while from France, the USA and the woyane, we will never know who is what, especially if the United Nations keep their blinds on.

If the United Nations is being truthful, and really cares seriously, even if sometimes bogus, the taking of land by another, then they should start at the beginning, that is seven years ago, and listen to Eritrea when it says its land has been taken, and do something about it. We cannot have a double standard here.

With truth on her side, Eritrea will surely prevail.
