ImageUnlike the evil intentions toiled by antagonists, the people of Eritrea demonstrate a noble devotion and determination towards eradicating poverty that has enabled the country to secure a bright horizon of prosperity in the near future.

This performance is authenticated not by the “certificate of approval” as in the case of many countries, but by practical actions on the ground.

The primary secret towards the notable progress is the people's willpower and devotion towards ensuring a developed and respected nation, as has been demonstrated when they restored their country's sovereignty as it was violated by aggressors. Indeed, the Government of Eritrea's political and economic policies, both internal and foreign, rest on building a keen working spirit among the people This very policy has in turn become the driving factor towards translating the Eritrean people's will into practice and tangible outcomes. The culture of a workaholic spirit!

Over the past years, the Government of Eritrea has been giving priority attention to economic development and has been able to lay favorable grounds for political, cultural, and social transformation. If these endeavors had not started from scratch, there would not have been any faction that could match the impressive economic growth registered through the unremitting activities carried out over the years. Hence, we have reached this very juncture of transforming the customary way of relying on seasonal rains to an advanced way of farming, so as to ensure the achievement of the set target of food security through utilizing agricultural resources. Accordingly, we have been able to secure consistent agricultural output for the years to come. In line with this, different agro-industries are being established to process the agricultural output being secured. Sustainable food security!

Yet again, efforts are being exerted to ensure the equitable provision of roads, residential homes, and potable water supply and energy, as well as transport and communication services in all corners of the country. These endeavors have in turn become the key factors that pave the way towards abridging the distance between remote villages and providing them access to the domestic and international market, which in turn have created favorable grounds for commercial and other forms of economic activity. As a result, this attracts the interest of local and foreign investors in the sectors of agriculture, mining, industry and tourism, thereby leading to practical actions. A tangible expectation!

Social services, particularly in education and health, are an intrinsic expression of human development. The Government of Eritrea's unremitting efforts and the victories registered in providing education and health facilities, especially in remote villages, are indeed gratifying. International organizations have lauded the achievements on many occasions. Eliminating malaria-related mortality rates, vaccinating every child, and providing women with the needed medical care during pregnancy and labor are clear evidence of the level of human development registered so far. So long as the foundation has already been laid, what remains to be done is to enhance and further reinforce such achievements, for democratic transformation signifies the assurance of equitable fortune to the public!

As a matter of fact, victories registered in the laying of required infrastructure, raising agricultural and industrial productivity, as well as ensuring the provision of social services by foiling external aggression -on the basis of self-reliance- is by far a vivid witness to the strengthening of self-reliance and the building of a bright future. Devoted people, a vibrant nation!

The Eritrean people also possess an even greater resource than those mentioned earlier: a socio-psychological resource. Thanks to the culture of reverence and strong national unity nurtured during the liberation struggle, and the eternal link of trust vested upon every national by his/her martyrs, the people of Eritrea have been able to nurture a just, participatory, and stable political system. This factor has enabled the Eritrean people to acquire a sense of peace and harmony within themselves that enables them to walk over their very own soil with their heads high, because internal peace and stability is the very foundation of development. And this, along with the persistent struggle of the people and the Government, has become the milestone of the Eritrean people to grasp the bright torch of development in the near future. Solid vision, definite resource!
