Eritreans residing in the city of Cologne, Germany and its environs held a public meeting on November 1. More than 500 Eritrean citizens attended the meeting and lauded the efforts Eritrea is exerting to promote peace in the region, particularly in the Sudan and Somalia. The participants of the meeting strongly condemned the acts of defamation against the people and Government of Eritrea on the part of the US Administration and its servants.

Briefings were also given on the major achievements so far registered in Eritrea’s development drive through the coordinated efforts of the people and the Government, during which the participants reaffirmed their readiness to fulfill whatever is required of them.

Expressing support to the Eritrean Government’s patient and mature diplomatic handling of the border issue, the participants of the meeting reasserted their readiness to meet possible attempts aimed at undermining the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Reports indicated that different papers and poems highlighting the steadfastness and dignity of the Eritrea people were presented on the occasion. It is to be recalled that Eritreans living in the city of Stuttgart held a similar meeting on October 7.
