Somalia: Ethiopian convoy hits bomb in Gedo Print E-mail

(SomaliNet) A remote controlled roadside bomb has exploded on Sunday near Luq town in Gedo region, south of the Somalia ripping off one of the Ethiopian military convoy who crossed the border and heading to the capital to join the fight against the repel insurgents.

Two civilians nearby the area of the blast were confirmed dead and five others including Ethiopian soldiers were wounded in the explosion.

The government troops in Luq reached the area of the explosion and started investigations over who was responsible for the attack.

The incident happened in Bulo-Bashir, 25km west of Bardale town on the border with Ethiopia.

Bardale and Luq twons have been relatively safe strip for the Ethiopian forces over the past months but now security threats increased.
