The other day, while listening to National Public Radio (NPR) I almost chocked over my coffee on hearing a government spokes person remark regarding the Pakistani president, Pervez Musharraf’s recent actions
having paralyzed the hands of the USA government from withdrawing the yearly billions of dollars aid/donation that they bestow on his country for services rendered. Why paralyzed? You might ask. Well, he continued to say that, since there was not any clause in the agreement between the two nations which stipulated that the said aid/donations would be withdrawn in the event of the current situation, the USA’s hands remain sort of tied and bound over what was not mentioned in the agreement, and they would have no choice but to continue giving him the money despite General Pervez Musharraf’s continued defiance over USA demands.

Letter dated Nov. 30'07 from the Legal Adviser to the President of Eritrea to the president of the UNSC

With effect from midnight tonight (30.11.2007), the demarcation of Ethio-Eritrean boundary will be as complete as any demarcated interstate boundary would be, if not better defined.
