With the war drums being beaten ever harder and faster by wey ane and the telltale indications abundantly clear, the writing is on the wall that the desperate Ethiopian government apparently may soon launch, albeit a suicidal, war against a law abiding Eritrea and the Eritrean People. But that is not the intent of this article today. I am simply reminding some Eritreans who seem to be, at best, indifferent to the impending trepidation our people could be subjected to soon.
Obviously, every one of us cannot be expected to think the same or see things the same way all the time. Some of us will have different ideas on how to achieve different things or on how to prioritize certain set of occurrences. That is why we differentiate “Individuals” from “Community” or “Society” as a group. Actually there is nothing wrong with being just “us”.
Nevertheless there are many things and instances which must be dealt with through a communal processes such as organizations, local and national governments etc. For example, municipal, state and national issues affect just about any of their constituents and it is imperative that every member take some active and constructive role to help shape the country’s direction.
Unfortunately, some Eritreans seem to abuse the idea of individual uniqueness by doing something that is not expected of a citizen of a country including conspiring with the enemies of Eritrea. Fortunately, however, they are very little in number and many of them are insignificant in stature among Eritreans at large. Be that as it may however, it is possible that some of them may have been drifting along with the wind without not knowing exactly what it means to remain isolated from and despised by the main stream Eritreans. Indeed, one is at a loss trying to figure out any plausible reason why these Eritreans opt to stand against the interests of their nation and people. Surely, being some pariah of the nation that one inevitably suffers from such actions, dwarfs whatever material reward one gets for him to identify with the interest of our enemy.
Anyway, many articles have been presented by more eloquent and feverishly nationalist Eritreans than me to dwell on these sacred issues again.. Suffice is to remind those lost souls that it is time they change course and side with the Eritrean people and government to help thwart any pending enemy threat that may be hovering over our heads. The gallant Eritrean Defense Forces on the side of the heroic Eritrean people and under the selfless leadership of the Eritrean government will definitely frustrate any attempt the wey ane and its sustainers may be planning. The train that is going to undue the evil deeds the demons of Mekele may have in mind is ready to depart with Eritrean steadfastness on board challenging every obstacle on the way. If I were some of the misguided Eritreans, I would make sure I get “All aboard” the freedom train before it is too late for the procrastinators to materialize. There can’t be any other way than the fact that “You are either with the Eritrean people in their hour of need or with their enemies. There is simply no justification of standing idle as an observer when our people are being challenged for their very existence as they know it. There is no “Ifs, and or buts”. You will have to reckon with your kids if not your conscience for the rest of your life and you will have nobody to blame but yourself!
Eritrea will prevail in spite of some bad apples!
