Both Governments? I beg to differ. In reading this Press release and statement coming out of the United States Department of State, one has to wonder if it is a game that is being played against Eritreans. As a guarantor of the peace plan that has reached it's final and last days, the State department should pressure the TPLF Government in Addis to accept the demarcation and move on with it's losses and gains. The pillars must come up and the borders must physically be demarcated. It is however disturbing to see a statement below especially the part that says "We urge both governments to engage directly to address issues dividing them"
The issues have been addressed and now what's left is DEMARCATION ON THE GROUND! Press Statement Also With a Meles Zenawi lead TPLF ally in the State Department's top African office why do both Eritrea and Ethiopia it is clear for the world to see that the State Dept. is not being genuine about it's desires for peace. Why is it so difficult to go by the rules that the TPLF regime agreed to and the State department's former top leadership (Sec. Albright) witnessed in Algiers. Masquerading as if you care about Eritrea will not fool the majority of Eritreans into believing that an ally of the TPLF regime truly and genuinely wants peace. If and when the TPLF regime starts a war it is because the State Department has given it the green light. It is time to demarcate and put the Pillars up where they belong along the borders. It's time for the US to use it's power to bring peace in the region and get out of the "Quagmire" it has put itself and the TPLF regime in Somalian sovereign territory. Mike Seium

Letter dated Nov. 30'07 from the Legal Adviser to the President of Eritrea to the president of the UNSC
From `legal nonsense to `legal fiction.

With effect from midnight tonight (30.11.2007), the demarcation of Ethio-Eritrean boundary will be as complete as any demarcated interstate boundary would be, if not better defined.
