Image Asmara, 31 December 2007 - President Isaias Afwerki conveyed his New Year message to the Eritrean people inside the country and abroad.

In his message, the President said that 2008 would be a year in which we would reinforce the “United Resistance for Liberation, Development and Prosperity of Eritrea.” He further indicated that the New Year would witness economic emancipation and development.

President Isaias went on to underline that the Eritrean people succeeded in laying the solid ground for ensuring social justice and prosperity through rebuffing political, security and economic hostilities thanks to its cherished values.

Noting that we presently stand on solid ground and are looking forward to a bright future as a result of our past endeavors, the President expressed conviction that our progress in the future would certainly be not only successful but also rewarding. In this regard, President Isaias wished the entire Eritrean people, including members of the defense force, Happy New Year, as well as a year of work and victory.

Given our culture for hardwork against World bigotry, we will inevitably succeed so that we will build a strongest and democratic ERITREA, once for all, without being subject to World indifference an sabotage. That's why we are tolerationg some sacrifices. We very much know what is at stake. Once again, against all the odds, with truth on our side, we will prevail!Eternal Glory to our Martyrs!

Tedros Haile

You need to see a doctor go to hsopital. You seem you are bitter and burning of evil thoughts. I am sorry for you. Your words are not going to get anything apart from burning from inside and develope mental problems. Lokk afteryourslef do not dream to kell people of eritrea. Eritrean people are supporters of Isais. He is the best leader we have seen on earth. Loved son of Eritrea is Isaya. If you do not like him and his supporters then you are the looser tigraway. So go home and stay at home. because we do not want evil minded people to come near to us. We need peace and health. We do not need to entertain mad people. You are mad and that is why without reason you want to k**l eritreans. You do not belong to the Eritrean people who peace loving. But dream of deaths and destruction. evil you.

wondwosen. is shit. you do not have peace in your mind. because your head is full of evil. Go send your meles to the gallows for k**ling the anauks, the Ogadenise, the demonstrators in Addis, the Awassa Students and the somali civilans in Megadisho. You have a lot to do in your country. Isayas is a hero, a man of principle, a loved son of Eritrea. The Americans do not hate Isayas. They respect him. So do not waste your time about Isayas, you have a lot deal with meles. No cover up no defamation, no lies. go clean your home but befor that you need to see your doctor for your mental fitness. You seem a devil possessed maniac.

Thanks to our Martyrs came the independence and thanks to your death Eritreans will gain freedom.

Message To Eritreans:

It is true that Eritrean have paid life of their children to conquer independence and freedom of the people. But thanks to this man Eritreans did not yet gain freedom.

We Eritrean have suffered when there was Haile Silassie, we suffered when there was Dergh and we are still suffering. It seems that we are cursed to suffering to ethernity.
what did we do this much evil to suffer this way. 100 years has passed and suffering seems what we are created for.

what are the probnlems you are talking about. Any country have problems and it is upto us Eritreans all together to work for the same goal. To sit and criticize is easy. Give me your address and I can talk to you what we can do to help our country. If you do not want to come forward it is no point to talk from behind the computer screen. Come to the Mekete hizbi with real heart to join forces of positive action to develop, build, defend and make eritrea the bride country to be decorated with everything the earth needs. flowers, road, hospitals, schools, roads, electrification, water supplies food security and social justice through the provision of servies to the people. That is what the real eritreans aree doing. No one can give us all what we need . We have to build everything brick by brick. There is no other means. That is what we are doing. then we can talk about any opther thing of luxury. Britian and the europeans, the chinese, the Russians, the In*ians any other countr...

continue.. and other countries had problems during one stage of their history. britian during the 2nd world war did have a lot of problems. but we are doing the best development work for the country. anyone who only complains is not going to give us any mana from the skies. we have to work hard to get where we wanted to reach. Hard work with a clear vision to do things oursleves. we canot go begging like other countries . Africa has been begging for the last 50 years no much has happened. even the most developed ones do not have social provisions and social justice. Look Kenya, Nigeria and many more who cannot provide the people with basic services. Come and join to the resistance to development, economic liberalisation and social justice through provision of social servies.

I really agree about what you have written so far MEKETE, but even you have ignored the most important issue that I have expressed heavely, and that was FREEDOM. And don't try to tell me that our people is enjoying FREEDOM. One thing i have seen from your paragraphs were about self reliance with regard to food security, I think making summer trip to Eritrea will help you clean a smoked screen situation. Please do that and you will sick and tires of counting what the people is DENIED starting from eating three times a day. Perhaps the fact that bread has become a mana will waken your nerves. By the way, if there is one thing to CHALLENGE is the problem we have indoor and you know who i am talking about.

P.S. To join you where you have invited me to talk to you i need your adress of your blog or forum, i think this way i can help clean that smoked screen about FREEDOM or else Mekete (though it is not clear who you are challenging)

I would like to comment one thing for all Eritreans. Let's leave the president alone. What we all need to do right now is save our beloved Eritrea from foreign invaders, and it is each and everyones responsiblity. Otherwise what is happening around the world in front of our eyes will also happen to all of us. Be a wise man and woman.
ZXAmiche - To all, against Isaias   | 75.55.124.xxx | 2008-01-03 02:46:22
To all of you, the daydreamers of "Freedom" and "democracy":
What kind of Democracy or Freedom are you looking for? A Welfare dependent freedom, ethnic or religious based parties or Ethiohelloagainn or Kenyan type of multiparty system, a Religious and Regionalism based time bomb against the long time interest of Democratic and prosperous Eritrea? Over our dead body! You can't even be able to see what is going on against Eritrea, against the Rule of Law! What we critically need at this point is: Deterrence against Eritrean invasion by Ethiohelloagain; Border demarcatin in the Final and Binding ruling, and Maintaining independence. We cannot afford to relinquish our hard earned Independence for a small gain of Ethiohelloagainn or Kenyan type "Democracy."
ZXAmiche - To all against Isaias   | 75.55.124.xxx | 2008-01-03 02:59:55
Many of you attempted to portray Isaias against American interest. You are dead wrong! American interest needs Isaias in the Horn of Africa. That was why you saw former defense minister Donald in Eritrea befor. The problem with American interest is just the corrupted Americans of the 4 years politics get on the way and it takes time to clearly see the situation on the ground. Now another African Country, Kenya is also on the verge of civil war, on top of the failure of Woyane within its borders of Ogaden and also in Somalia, Americans need Isaias' gov't help for lasting security against terrorism. Only stable and independent Eritrea provides the best hope. It might be bitter but you have no choice. Just swallow the facts!

May be you are not aware of countries like Cuba, Birmania, Zimbabwe and so many can be detailed here.... all these presidents have the same slogan and they have perverted understanding of Freedom. And to your knowledge Freedom is not granted or denied by governments and please do not compare Democracy with Freedom. Ideology and nature are two different things but can go in a parallel way.

This ranting dimwit´s continuous demand for democracy while demarcation is still pending can olly be explained in the context of him being a Tigaru. Democracy for Tigarus and their Eritrean slaves mean the destruction of Eritrea.
Tidelyo umo yizinghiakin. You can dream and even your son's sons will not see that day. Rest in peace, Eritrea is in good hands and will always will be under the guard of lions and tigers. No ifs or buts. Long live our Eritrea. Long live the best president ever, Isaias Awerki. Awet Nhafash!

Here you go again PFDJ trying to put division between our people again. Any body who questions your action is weyane. you are so low that you call your own people by another peoples name. See how in tolerant you are. how could you use somebody else's name as a derogatory term.

Have some self respect for people. Please refrain from using baseless divisions to divide our people for your own self interest.

A day will come when you will be put before justice and have to answer to it.

After the War of liberation comes the war of economic liberation before the question of the unsastainable and impractical imported democracy. See Kenya, Ethiohelloagain, Uganda or Somalia. Economic freedom at this point is the basic one in the heirarchy of needs of Maslow. That's why we support Warsai-Yikealo, at home or abroad, agents and dealers of Democracy!

Listen to Wadhams report

An Eritrean human rights group is accusing the governments of Sudan and Eritrea of working together to round up and deport Eritreans who have sought refuge from Eritrea's authoritarian government. Nick Wadhams has the story from Nairobi.

The Netherlands-based Eritrean Research and Documentation Center says Eritrean security forces are illegally monitoring Eritrean refugees, many of whom it says defected from the Eritrean Air Defense forces.

In a letter to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, the group says Sudan has allowed Eritrean intelligence agents to kidnap some of the refugees and return them to Eritrea. It listed 22 people with refugee status who it said were in imminent danger, and one may have...

response to amazing. Eritreans - the hizbawi the HIgdef, the fithi, the decmocracy, worked sacrificed their lives to liberate their country from colonizers and are working very hard to make eritrea, a free, independent, prosperous, democartic and soverign and strong nation. The higdefits are still on the liberation process. The process has been long and difficult. But in our history we have seen people they call themselves eritreans but never were part of the liberation struggle. they were against everything that the real eritreans wanted to do. Probably you are one of them or some body who came into being from no where to compalin. Eritrean people are in a process of liberating, developming and protecting the country. It is a hard job but we still doing it while you complain gather this and that faults. Of course when people are doing acting there could be some faults. but we are on the process to excell in every thing.

You did not take part to liberate eritrea from cruel col...

It sounds that you were either one of the X Shaebia members who betrayed Eritrea and our martyrs for personal reasons or you were one of those grandious X Jebhas who wanted to see Eritrea dismantled because they were not succesful to bring freedom. No matter what your wishful dream is, Eritrea is in good hands under Isaias for better and productice and prosperous one. LONG LIVE President Isaias and his Government!

The administrato of Biddho.com is funny. He has removed the word "Agame" to make sure that people don´t insult these filthy people. On the other hand, he is allowing filthy **games to insult our country and its institutions, especially our presiden. Tragically, the administrator of Biddho.com is doing the same mistake as asmarino.com did: He is sitting idly by while his website is being turned into a meeting place for Agames and their stooges. Very tragic indded. I hope the administrator of this website is not an Agame himself.

In the Sudan there are over 180,000 Eritrean refugees and additional 30,000 youngsters seeking political asylum as of 2007

ms president- You look you wanted to take the tile of president, Ar you power hungry or what? any way. You are talking where are the 30,000 people who claimed asylm. in which country did they calim asylum. the High commisi0n for refugees said few asylum seekers this year. not more than 1000 all over europe. It may not be the exact figure but your figue is even a fabrication.

The many people in sudan you said I do not think that many people entered sudan in the whole 15 years.

Again the woyanes were saying 650 per month from eritrea entering the refugee camps. That is a laugh. YOu know what the Ethiohelloagainns do they make a figure from the tegaru and say that is eritrean refugees. It is a clear lie and fabrication . When few eritreans make their way the majority infux is from the Tigray particulalry from the boredering towns and villages. They want to use Eritrean name to get fodd ration, medical help, and through that to go to Canada and Europe. The UNHRC does not know...
hakki   | 79.74.77.xxx | 2008-01-05 21:28:41
continued...
the UN high commision for refugees does not know who is Eritrean, who is Tigraway. They register everyone who claimed as refugee. The Ethiohelloagainns all over the world are claiming asylum as Eritreans.

Also you have to know that Eritreans like any body else would like to go abroad for better life. Itis africa every one wants change. How can eritreans be different from other people. Until Eritrea is as rich as Europe or America people will always move andgo to better places. If you are living abroad you need to back to Eritrea to reaplace those who are leaving. It is natural process. Even if there were not national service, what are going people to do. Even after finishing university many wanted to go somewhere to get jobs, or get better salary. Eritrea cannot stop people from going abroad.

But the figures and the reasons you are giving is a sheer exageration. Eritrean people when ever they go they love their country , I wish them good luck for the new...
