For instance, Eritrea's history has to date been dominated by the search for truth and justice, and Eritrea's independence and its preservation has been a result of heavy sacrifice, both human and material. It is not surprising then for the Eritrean Government and the Eritrean media to place a high value on the objective truth as well as a strong sense of responsibility.

On the other hand, 'expansionism' not only best describes Ethiopia territorially but also its successive rulers. In addition to being expansionist, however, the current Ethiopian rulers are also well known for being habitual liars, scheming and deceptive. It is not surprising then for the Woyane media, including those they sponsor, to be full of lies and deception. And with regard to the West, greed, plunder, domination, to name but a few, better describe their history to date. Hence, it is not surprising for the Western media to be motivated by these evil traits. This paper intends to briefly examine the evil role of the Western-Woyane-sponsored media with reference to Eritrea.

When the Woyane regime invaded sovereign Eritrean territories on the pretext of 'Badme', the US Administration sought to exploit the situation for their own purposes, i.e. to force the Eritrean people and Government into submission. To that end, the US and the Woyane regime have employed the media to conduct fierce and systematic Psychological Warfare (PsyWar) by disseminating fabricated, distorted and false information against Eritrea as a nation state, targeting the unity of its people, the ideology it pursues, its developmental Government, its governing Front - the PFDJ, and its youth in particular.

Indeed the no-war no-peace situation the US has deliberately created by obstructing the implementation of the EEBC ruling, and now by allowing the Woyane regime to continue occupying Eritrea's sovereign territory is designed:

To set the stage for a full-blown destructive war between Eritrea and Ethiopia where there is no need for another senseless war in the first place. Their wicked aim is, of course, to erase the 'miraculous' progress young Eritrea has achieved to date based on its policy of self-reliance, to bring about more human and material destruction, and for there to be a deep-rooted mistrust and hate between the peoples of Eritrea and Ethiopia, thereby to totally uproot forward-looking prospects, a vital ingredient for peace, security and development,

To create conducive environment for resentment and frustration, foolishly believing that the Eritrean people would eventually lose faith in their leaders,

To create conducive environment for corrupt and anti-developmental culture to take root, and

To weaken Eritrea's economy, thereby to force the people and Government of Eritrea into submission and eventually for Eritrea to be governed in accordance with the 'Western Agenda'.

While holding the boundary ruling hostage for so many years, and now allowing the Woyane regime to continue occupying Eritrea's sovereign territory were done by design expecting the above results, the Western-Woyane-sponsored media, however, have deliberately been misleading people by falsely and repeatedly accusing the law-abiding and peace-loving Eritrea as the cause of obstruction, hence the 'villain of the piece'.

Moreover, the media have systematically been targeting Eritrea's policy of 'self-reliance' in a way that is designed to cause doubt and discord among the people as to the viability of Eritrea's political choice, thereby to derail people from the only right path and to create divisions within the leadership, between the leadership and the people, and among the people.

The media have repeatedly been utilised by the US and the Woyane to deliberately disseminate fabricated allegations against the Eritrean Government, the PFDJ, the Eritrean President and other individuals with the aim of marring their image and reputation. For instance,

While the malicious policies of the US and the military adventures of its servant regime in Addis are destabilising the Horn region, the Western-Woyane-sponsored media with its false values and its structural preference for the short and not the long term, for the dramatic and not the mundane, for the synthetic and not the real, for sentimentality and not compassion, have hitherto been accusing the peace-loving Eritrea as the cause of regional instability.

Indeed, the Woyane regime, emboldened by its masters - the US, have been destabilising the entire region by continuing to occupy Eritrea's sovereign territory and invading Somalia which, in turn, has caused 'the worst humanitarian crisis' the Horn region has witnessed. On the other hand, the Eritrean Government's role in the peace deal between the Sudanese Government and the East Front, and the Somali Congress for re-liberation and reconstitution that was held in Asmara, Eritrea, are ample evidence of the Eritrean people and Government's never-changing stance on regional peace and stability.

• While it is well known that the Ethiopian rulers are in power 'illegally', only being protected by guns and the double standard West, the media have been targeting the popular Eritrean leadership for being accountable to its people and not the West. Indeed, the wise and strong Eritrean leadership is being targeted for being forward-looking, corruption-free, developmental, for its positive and constructive role in the Horn region, for its capacity to devise its own policies without external interference, and for successfully galvanising the Eritrean people, and the youth in particular, for actively participate in the process of nation building.
• While it is well known that Eritrea has been a victim of terrorism since its birth as a new nation, the media whose role has been reduced to disseminating lies and deception, have falsely been accusing Eritrea of 'sponsoring terrorism', and paving the way for Eritrea to be enlisted in what they call a 'state sponsor of terrorism'.
• The media have been producing a systematically distorted and false picture of Eritrea in order to deliberately put-off would be visitors and investors, thereby to continually weaken Eritrea's economy.
• While Eritrea is a country known for its religious harmony, the media, bent on marring Eritrea's well-known image as well as to cause divisions among the people along religion and ethnic lines, have falsely been accusing the Eritrean Government of abusing religious rights.
• In an attempt to hijack the responsible Eritrean media and reduce it into a vehicle for distortion and fabrication, the Western-Woyane-sponsored media have been accusing the Eritrean Government of abusing the people's 'freedom of press'.

The Eritrean youth and the two major youth-oriented developmental institutions, SAWA and Wefri Warsai Yikaalo, under which the youth get nurtured and actively participate in nation building, have hitherto been the Western-Woyane-sponsored media's other major target. Indeed, the Eritrean youth have to date been actively participating in shouldering their historic responsibility and thanks to Wefri Warsai Yikaalo, a solid foundation for viable and sustainable Eritrea is being laid, and the sovereignty of Eritrea being safeguarded. The enemies of Eritrea, its people, its government, its governing Front and its ideology, however, have been disturbed by this 'home-grown' and 'genuine' development, and in an attempt to frustrate the process of nation-building, have until now been utilising their right-hand, the deceptive Western-Woyane-sponsored media. For instance:

To systematically distort and mar the image of Sawa as well as weaken Sawa's symbolic significance, the Western-Woyane-sponsored media have been bombarding the public with entirely manufactured stories about Sawa. As a unique place where responsible, disciplined and patriotic youths who are capable of shouldering of their historic responsibility are nurtured, it is not surprising why Sawa would be targeted by Eritrea's enemies.

Under Wefri Warsai Yikaalo, the Eritrean youth are making history by fulfilling their historic responsibility, history Eritrea's martyrs as well as present and future generations would be proud of. On the other hand, however, those who do not have Eritrea's best interest at heart, have to date been targeting Wefri Warsai Yikaalo, associating it with forced labour in an attempt to frustrate the process of Eritrea's nation-building.

In brief, as the Western-Woyane-sponsored media are a uniquely noxious vehicle for distortion and fabrication, run by devious people who tell an essentially false narrative about Eritrea with the aim of deceiving people to eventually frustrate the Eritrean people's aspiration of creating a viable and sustainable nation, it is critical that every Eritrean be aware of their strategy and motives, and tests his/her information and sources for validity.
